Sturdy Wood Summerhouses Hand Built in Essex

All of the summerhouses in the Super Summerhouses range of garden rooms are handmade in our Essex workshop. With over 40 years' experience in making garden buildings we take great pride in all the Timber Sheds hand built summerhouses we make, using the best quality timber and joinery. As the trees are slow grown the resulting timber is dense for its weight, which in softwoods makes it the strongest and most stable for external use in garden buildings.

Heavy Duty Wooden Summerhouses

Our Super Summerhouses are made using 4” x 2” PAR timber for the walls and roof framework. The recessed joints within the framework are an added strength to the building and also provide a neat finish to the joinery. The 19mm thick tongue & groove cladding is used for the exterior of the walls of your Super Summerhouse.

All the Super Summerhouses at Timber Sheds feature recessed joints in the framework of the building which increases the sturdiness of the structure and provides a greater amount of room between the outer surface of the walls and any trim or finish that you decide to fit. The external walls have been finished using 19mm thick wide tongue-and-groove cladding, providing a sturdy structure for the roof.

All of our garden buildings come with treated floor runners to protect them from rot and insect damage. A damp course is also included between each floor joist and the flooring to ensure that your Super Summerhouse remains dry for years to come.

The Super Summerhouse is provided with heavy-duty roof runners of up to 6" x 2" to support the 16mm tongue-and-groove roof boards. The roof is then finished off with a long-lasting EPDM rubber roofing material. Super Range Summerhouses are perfect for the majority of users who require a strong, sturdy quality garden building for regular use.

Double Glazed Wooden Summerhouses

At Timber Sheds we try to ensure that all of our garden buildings have large amounts of natural light to allow them to be used as a garden office or outdoor living space, wherever possible. Our Super range of summerhouses are supplied complete with large joinery-made doors and windows.

All doors and windows come complete with 14mm thick double-glazed toughened safety glass as standard. This is thicker and heavier than most single-glazed alternatives and is ideal for garden rooms and outdoor buildings. Solid rubber gaskets have been fitted to all joinery and a quality five-lever mortice lock, finished in black with traditional black ironmongery complete the doors and windows.

The joinery-made doors and windows, combined with the 14mm thick double-glazed units with toughened glass, allow plenty of natural light to enter the Super Summerhouse. This is perfect for reading, relaxing, working or undertaking any other activity within the summerhouse.

Pent Roof Summerhouses

Our Super Summerhouse range are quality wooden summerhouses that come complete with a pent roof giving them a modern appearance and look in a contemporary garden.

The pent roof on the Super Summerhouse has a single slope and offers a modern feel to the building. This style of roof is especially suitable for a modern garden and means that the building has a lower profile than a traditional summerhouse with an apex roof.

The pent roof summerhouses from our Super range also have a deep roof overhang which is ideal for protecting the external walls of the building from the elements. The overhang at the front of the summerhouse is 12 inches deep. This not only aids in the protection of the summerhouse but will also give the building a different external look.

Summerhouses for Garden Offices and Outdoor Living

A Super Summerhouse can be adapted to many uses within the garden such as a garden office, a room for your hobby, a studio or even just another room to relax in. The interior of the summerhouse can be supplied with furniture, shelving, extra lighting and other requirements including installation of electrical supplies as necessary. Also if you intend to use the summerhouse all year round extra interior finishing and/or additional insulation may be required.

The summerhouse comes complete with a light brown wood preservative treatment. This will give the summerhouse protection from the elements in the first part of its life and can then be left to be stained, painted or treated with any other type of timber protection that the customer chooses.
